A stunning and increasingly rare piece of Canadian wildlife art, this is 'The Grizzly Bear' the first plate in the celebrated Wild & Free: Canada's Big Game collection, produced in 1988 by Dominion China Ltd. and painted by acclaimed wildlife artist Paul Krapf.
The plate depicts a magnificent grizzly bear standing in a snow-covered woodland scene, rendered in breathtaking detail with rich earthy tones against a cold winter backdrop. It is signed by the artist and carries the Bradex reference number 8-D52-4.1, making it fully traceable and verifiable for collectors.
What makes this piece particularly special is its provenance, issued under the official sponsorship of the Canadian Wildlife Federation and produced in an edition strictly limited to a maximum of 150 firing days, ensuring genuine scarcity. This is plate number 19952E from that limited run.
Nearly 40 years on, pieces from this collection in excellent condition are becoming harder to find. This example presents beautifully, vivid colour, no chips or cracks, and well preserved.
Please note: This is a preloved item, personally selected for its quality and condition. Once sold it will not be restocked. A display stand is included.
